Lincoln’s Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Karl McCartney JP, has today hailed the Prime Minister, Rt Hon David Cameron’s announcement of 16,000 new apprenticeships which are being provided by a number of different companies such as Costa Coffee and Morrisons.
This builds on the work of the Conservatives in Government which weeks to ensure that young people have the skills they need to do well in life and make the most of their talents.
Karl McCartney JP, said: “There has never been a better time to start an apprenticeship and it’s a huge leap forward to have even more of Britain’s most prestigious employers hiring apprentices.
“We want apprenticeships to be level-pegging with a university degree giving millions more people the dignity of work and a regular pay packet. We’ve already created 2.2 million apprenticeships since 2010 - 5290 of which have been in Lincoln - but a future Conservative Government is committed to opening up 3 million more high quality apprenticeships.
“We are giving young people proper training and the prospect of a better future. This will help strengthen our economy and communities and give millions more people financial security.”
