Today Ed Balls will visit Bifrangi UK Ltd’s plant on Spar Road in the City of Lincoln Constituency, which Conservative Karl McCartney JP has represented in Parliament for the last five years, in an attempt to boost the Lincoln Labour Candidate’s faltering General Election campaign:
Karl McCartney JP said: “I am extremely pleased that Ed Balls has come to Conservative Lincoln to visit Bifrangi, a family-owned, privately-run company for whom I have helped to secure some £4.8million of Regional Growth Fund money from the Conservatives in Government to develop a Research and Development Centre.
“As well as creating 120 plus meaningful and permanent jobs in the City, the project will create opportunities for Lincoln students within the engineering sector and follows a commitment from Bifrangi to invest c.£50m in a new forging facility.
“Unfortunately for Mr Balls and The Lincoln Labour Party, his visit comes after yesterday’s open letter of support for the Conservatives signed by over 100 leaders of Britain’s business community, and the very public campaign Lincoln Labour’s Candidate launched yesterday against one of our transport providers, Stagecoach - another wealth and job creating business in our City and County.
“This is not, therefore, a particularly auspicious time for Mr Balls to visit one of our City’s foremost company’s but it will at least be an opportunity for him to teach a new dog old tricks.
