With just seven days to go until Polling Day, Lincoln Conservative Candidate for the General Election, Karl McCartney JP, has today welcomed the unveiling of his Party’s Five Point Guarantee for Young People.
Our focus on the economy continues today with an announcement on what the next Conservative Government will do to help young people get on in life and become more financially secure.
We need to keep reminding voters throughout the next 7 days that only the Conservative Party can be trusted to keep our economy strong. And it’s only with the economy strong and the recovery secure that we can achieve everything else we want to do as a country.
The Conservatives’ Five Point Guarantee for Young People states that:
- If you want to learn, we will deliver over 3 million new apprenticeships and keep university places uncapped.
- If you want a job, we will continue with the Employment Allowance, always make sure there is no national insurance on jobs for people under 21, and abolish the jobs tax on apprentices under 25.
- If you want to keep more of your own money, we will raise the personal allowance to £12,500.
- If you want to save, we will introduce a Personal Savings Allowance so you pay no tax on your savings, and if you want to save for a home, we will introduce Help to Buy ISAs.
- If you want your own home, we will build 200,000 Starter Homes and extend the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme to 2020.
Karl McCartney JP, said: “The next Conservative Government will lift half a million under 30 year olds out of income tax as part of our Five Point Guarantee for Young People.
“We Conservatives have already done plenty in Government to help young people – that’s why youth unemployment is down, the number of university applicants is the highest ever and more students can pursue top quality vocational education than ever before. These achievements are extremely important for a City like Lincoln that has so many young people.
“But there is always more we can do which is why our Five Point Guarantee for Young People for new apprenticeships and ourmeasures to encourage working and saving, in addition to helping young people buy their first home, are so important.
“If you’re young, want to work hard and want to get on, the Conservative Party is the party for you.”
